still waiting for het to show me some love

probably shouldent complainreally, knowing many of the diamond and 7 star posters have mentioned their offers are no better than friends that are gold but i was hoping i got someone at harrahs attention.

ran up 4495 tier points on a 2 day trip in april, yet except for 1 offer (and i do appreciate it) for free friday and sat thru july. but everything else seems the same,25 instant play on days i wont ever be there to use them, some 2 for 1 buffett coupons again on days i wont be able to use them. anyway maybe i was expecting better. pardon my whining, guess ive got ac on the brain today and looking for something to get excited about. sorry for taking up your time.

still waiting for het to show me some love

you should expect some better offers but often there is no understanding the marketing dept of Casinos..it would hurt to give a host a call-they can do so much more for you, I think.

still waiting for het to show me some love

I wouldn%26#39;t give up just yet although good marketing would be on it like a bonnet.I agree with Nancy that you might want to jar someone%26#39;s ( a host%26#39;s) memory.

Out of the blue a couple weeks back I got a reel reward of $25 from Caesar%26#39;s based on my play in March.

Hang in there, and in the mean time make a call.

Sorry we won%26#39;t see you guys Saturday!

thanks . im hanging in there sort of waiting to see if im going to go on their june junket.

I really shouldent complain,i guess since one of my offer on the tr page gives me a friday-sat ,based on availablility is a good thing. considered calling a host, but with no firm trip set im going to wait, definetly should have checked befor leaving last time. the only other time i actually had a host it took about a good month + befor getting a letter. as i said at the start, yeah i gave them some pretty good play over 2 days, but if the regulars who blow away anything ill ever do there while they go over and over ahgain are not getting shown any appreciation i really shouldent be whinig too much haha

i guess from what i see looking online that they are sort of showing me some love now.

not in offers ,but im showing comped nights any day of the week now thru the end of july.

since we usually fly the junkets thats not a big deal, we were planning on going for my birthday in late june but that weekend theres nothing at all as far as shows anywhere that my wife is interested in. now she wants to wait till july.our anniversary so we can atleast try and get comped a bronx tale tickets.

  • TR 5/21 Chester

My wife and I went to Chester for a few hours this afternoon. She had a buy one-get one lunch buffet comp. Between that, her comp credits and my credits, we ended up paying $1.01 for the meal (plus tip). Pretty good deal. The food was very tasty, as always. We like that buffet a lot. This was our first time having lunch there and it is exactly the same as dinner - just cheaper.

After lunch, I played $5 blackjack for almost an hour and walked away down $5. That was fine with me. Cheap entertainment. I took my $95 to a Cleopatra slot, not realizing at first it was a $.25 machine. Kept playing anyway and ended up losing all but $3. I took that and $60 cash and played 5-cent Mr. Cashman African Dusk. Thanks mainly to one great spin involving 4 wild symbols that earned me over 3,000 credits, I walked away from there with $173.95, putting me up a little for the trip.

So overall, a very nice time. Good lunch for almost nothing and both my wife and I won a few dollars in the process.

    TR 5/21 Chester

Glad u did well and enjoyed lunch. I haven%26#39;t tried the buffet yet, but will since I have coupons for it.

    TR 5/21 Chester

We%26#39;ve eaten at the buffet maybe 4 or 5 times now and never had a bad experience. The one thing that bugs me is that they charge more on Saturday night because it is ';prime rib'; night and neither of us eat prime rib.

We like the set-up and different stations. My wife especially likes it because she has a seafood allergy and the seafood items are prepared separately from the other food so she knows it is safe to eat the fried chicken, for example, because that fryer hasn%26#39;t been used for any fish.

The only warning I%26#39;d give is to avoid the smoothies at dessert. They are lousy. I only tried them once, so something may have been wrong that night, but they were very sweet and fake tasting. Everything else is good. They had mini apple crepes today that were delicious.

I also went to Chester (but last night). I took advantage of my vouchers for 5/21 and 5/22. Nothing great. I sat at Star Trek for about 2 hours. Kept bombing on the bonus rounds! Ick!! I hate having to pick something for my bonus amount! I am glad you enjoyed the buffet, I have been there for dinner and it was just awful! The food was dried up and cold. That night, I complained and it got me a free meal at the buffet for future use...haven%26#39;t used it yet!

Thanks for the TR. We go to Chester around 3x a month, have never tried the buffet, have heard mostly negative reviews, we may have to give it a try after reading your TR. We do enjoy eating at the '; End Zone '; and at the '; Cove ';. Our new favorite thing to do is stop at the Cove Bar, have a cocktail and an order of Mussells while enjoying the River View. Their $35 price fix menu is a great deal with great food !

I%26#39;ve also heard negative reviews of the buffet and I%26#39;m honestly not sure what people were expecting or looking for. I have heard that the buffet is better than when they first opened but I wasn%26#39;t there back then so I can%26#39;t speak from personal experience.

  • need help - beach wedding reception location

Hi! I would love to get married on the beach and hold a reception at a local restaurant/location on the jersey shore. I live in NJ and am open to any ideas/location. My wedding party will be smaller - around 65 people and I would like to keep my prices reasonable as we are paying on our own. I am looking for a modern, fun, location that would accomadate a smaller party and also have room for dancing. Was looking at Mcloone%26#39;s Pier House but they may end up being too expensive and not sure if they will accomdate a smaller party (under 100 guests).

I%26#39;d love to hear any suggestions you may have.

need help - beach wedding reception location

Look into Jack Bakers Lobster Shanty in Pt.Pleasant Beach. They are located right on the water. The food is delicious and the views are fantastic. They are reasonably priced. Check out their website. They have a brunch on Sundays if you want to take a ride down the shore to check them out. Also in Pt.Pleasant is Crystal Point Yacht Club.Located on Rte.70 between Brick and Brielle. They are on the water also.I have been to a wedding there and it was spectacular. You can have your ceremony there as well. In Spring Lake there are a few nice places but it will be more expensive.Did you think about getting married on board a riverboat cruise? They have one out of Brielle ,River Belle Cruises, that they rent out for private parties. Where you choose will be easier if you know what your budget is.PM me if you need any additional information.

Martell,s in Point Pleasant Beach- You can have your wedding inside or out on the beach. Visit www.tikibar.com for info.

Mr. C%26#39;s in Allenhurst is right on the beach. We had a party there for 50 people and they did a very nice job. They have indoor and outdoor space.

    http://www.jerseyshorerestaurant.com/

I have to respectfully disagree with the review on Jack Bakers. I have unfortunately been twice, and while the setting is lovely, the food is absolutely horrendous. I went with family members twice; we thought the first terrible visit was maybe just an off night. Both visits, the seafood was smelly and not fresh. I don%26#39;t understand this, as it is right on the waterfront. Honestly, I think JB is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to anyplace. In fact, yesterday, we just drove by JB on the way to Point Lobster for some fresh fish, and were remembering our disgusting %26#39;meals%26#39; with a groan. Just my opinion.

You might want to also post your question on chowhound.com. There is a Mid-Atlantic board that is pretty active with posters from NJ, and there seems to be many people from the PP area posting regularly. Also, nj.com has a restaurant forum as well as a wedding forum. I posted on the wedding forum for some help in finding a place for a Communion party and got some good opinions and suggestions there (even though it wasn%26#39;t for a wedding).

One more thought; off of LBI there is a place called Cedar Bonnet Estate. The setting is beautiful and it%26#39;s right on the bay. I have no idea about the pricing or any other information, but you can probably google for more info. Good luck!

Have you looked at The Breakers in Spring Lake? It%26#39;s a nice hotel with reception rooms, and a big wrap around porch and across the street from the beach. I believe they can do a wedding on the beach, porch, or even on spring lake. Check it out. Just google ';Breakers Spring Lake'; they have different size wedding packages and sample menus and all different options.

I went to a wedding at Cedar Bonnet Estate, just off LBI. Absolutely gorgeous, but per the father of the bride very, very, expensive. See: www.bonnetislandestate.com

The same owner has also built another venue on the bay, mainland off LBI-Mallard Island Yacht Club. Ignore the name as it is not a yacht club. See: www.mallardislandyachtclub.com/

The Boat House Restaurant in Beach Haven (Bay front, not beach front) does weddings, as do some of the area yacht clubs such as the Haven Beach Club. Some of the yacht clubs require a sponsoring member, some do not.

    Congratulation and best wishes!

You may find that The Breakers in Spring Lake is more expensive than your budget allows. However, Martell%26#39;s Water%26#39;s Edge in Bayville is very nice, has great food, and can accomodate a small party for reasonable prices. (However, it is bay front, not beach front) Crystal Point Yacht Club in Point Pleasant is also very nice, and affordable as well.

The Black Whale in Beach Haven, runs a paddle boat, The Crystal Queen, down the bay that has hosted private parties.

    See: blackwhalecruises.com/

The Jersey Shore covers a large area. Are you interested in the Monmouth County area, the northern or southern Ocean County area or Atlantic County??

I%26#39;m getting married at Merri-Maker%26#39;s at the Water%26#39;s Edge. Our ceremony will be on the beach and reception indoors. Our wedding will also be under 100 guests, so Merri-Maker%26#39;s could be a location for you to consider. If you%26#39;re interested, here%26#39;s the website:

Good luck and good times to all of you!

Bums me out I can%26#39;t be there--looking forward to lots of reports so please share--I want to at least hear about what a great time I missed.

drive safely, NJ has the 2nd worst drivers

    www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp…

    excerpts: %26#39;The GMAC test measured rules-of-the-road knowledge... ..Below 70 percent was considered failing. New York drivers passed, but finished dead last with a score of 70.5 percent. New Jersey was next with 71.5 percent%26#39;

excerpt: %26#39;Clearly, it%26#39;s not a scientific study%26#39; but it still helps to drive safely, we want u to arrive alive

drive safely, NJ has the 2nd worst drivers

    There%26#39;s rules?

drive safely, NJ has the 2nd worst drivers

Funny, last time I heard that was from my brother driving with his knees in the middle of nowhere in South Dakota. Not long after that, he rolled a Chief Master Sergeant%26#39;s vehicle and hasn%26#39;t played those ';games'; since.

Seriously, please drive carefully - there will be a lot of people coming to AC this and every weekend this summer and as has been said, we want everyone to get there safely.

Why am I not surprised? LOL. NJ is second to last because its probably NYers that moved to Jersey.

    7Stars Question

Can you just go to a casino and enjoy the benefits of being a 7Stars player without gambling any money? Or does HET require you to gamble?

    7Stars Question

You do not have to gamble everytime you go but it will affect your ADT and probably future offers. But you can still use the 7 star lounge and go to the front of a line. I just came back after 2 days in a suite, got great seats at the Penn Teller show and I didn%26#39;t gamble this time. But because of not gambling the next time I go down I won%26#39;t use my host, I%26#39;ll get a room on my own. I won%26#39;t request anything of him. I do this every so often because I am very close to AC and I go down alot to use the 7 star club or restaurants or just the pool and certainly can%26#39;t gamble at a high level everytime I go to AC. But when I do gamble I play for many hours in the high slot area. This brings ny ADT back up and then I use a host. This is just how I always have been doing it and it works okay for me.

    Atlantic city - Total rewards

My husband and I are going to AC soon. Which one of the Harrahs%26#39; group hotels is the best one to stay at?

    Atlantic city - Total rewards

it depends, do u want access to the boardwalk %26amp; ability to visit shopping, restaurants %26amp; other casinos on foot?

    Atlantic city - Total rewards

There are 4 properties by Harrah%26#39;s in AC, If you are first timers, Caesar%26#39;s ';premium'; would be ideal because it%26#39;s on the boardwalk. If you don%26#39;t mind being off the boardwalk in the marina district, go with Harrah%26#39;s.

    Agreed 100% with eapple71.

    TC

Just because you%26#39;re staying at Caesars doesn%26#39;t mean you%26#39;ll get a good room. Some of their rooms are horrible. I%26#39;ve never seen a worse room anywhere than the one I was assigned last time. I was ready to go back home but a supervor gave me a better room. For consistently good rooms I would suggest the Showboat on the Boardwalk or Harrah%26#39;s in the Marina District.

I have had some really awful rooms at Cesears. Location wise I like Bally%26#39;s and the Dennis Tower has some nice renovated rooms. The Garden Tower is the best but good luck getting in there. If you don%26#39;t mind behind the boadwalk Harrahs new tower has some of the nicest rooms I have seen in quite some time. I personally don%26#39;t like Showboat, but that%26#39;s just me....

If you book Caesar%26#39;s, just book the luxury or premium room type. If you stay at Harrah%26#39;s, you cannot venture outside like you can on the boardwalk.
