Hotels near Stevens Institute of Technology

I%26#39;ve got to make a quick trip to Hoboken NJ next month to pick up my godson from Stevens.

Any reccs as to where to stay? I%26#39;m looking for cheap and decently clean and close to the college. I%26#39;ve got about 7 hours to sleep so my primary interest is not getting into traffic at 8 AM on a Friday morning.

Holland Motor lodge. Make a left out of the parking the parking lot, you eill be on Marin. Stay on Marin (turns into Henderson for a bit and then becomes Marin again) until you hit Observer Highway. On Observer make a left onto Washington just before Hoboken Terminal. You will turn right onto 9th the campus is right there. If you have anyother questions please feel free to contact me.

The only other Hoboken hotel I know of is the new W Hotel starwoodhotels.com/whotels/鈥?/a> which will be much more expensive

Re the Holland Motor Lodge, please do read the generally favorable reviews of this property so you will be prepared for it%26#39;s location, which is right outside the Holland Tunnel -- and I mean right outside. It gets good reviews on all counts but your first reaction upon driving up will not be highly favorable. I mention this only so you will set your expectations right, not because I don%26#39;t think you should stay there.

It might be better to spend the extra money and stay at the W. i%26#39;m guessing youre in town for graduation? Or just for move-out? The W is about 4 blocks from campus. Parking is probably extra, so be prepared for that as well.

You%26#39;ll hit a little traffic coming from any of the downtown JC hotels, but nothing too bad. Most of the traffic is leaving Hoboken, not entering. Also the cops generally do a good job controlling the intersection near the Holland Tunnel, so you shouldn%26#39;t get backed up there (if you do decide to stay in JC). The Holland motor lodge is probably less than 10 mins drive including lights and traffic. The W is a 10 min walk to campus. good luck

The Holland Motor Lodge is the cheapest, but look at Candlewood suites as well, as I remember they were not too much more expensive than the Motor Lodge. The benefit to staying here is you can avoid the tunnel traffic altogether (take Washington Blvd north to Marin, then make 2 rights and youre in Hoboken)
