Many things closed during the week in May?

We are going to be there Monday May 11th through Wed. May 13th. I know casinos will be open 24/7 to bring in the money, but I%26#39;m guessing some restaurants and attractions will be closed during slower times with the decline in tourism going on everywhere. Should I be prepared for a ghost town and if so does anyone have any suggestions/sure bets for what will be available other than the casinos?

We%26#39;ll have a car, so maybe some day trips close by that we shouldn%26#39;t miss?

ride a bike on the Atlantic City boardwalk in the morning. Bike riding is permitted on the boardwalk from 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM from April 1st to October 31st., and from 6:30 AM to Noon from November 1st to March 31st. You don%26#39;t have to have a bike; you can rent one. Bikes are available for rent near both the Resorts and Tropicana casinos[unsure if still available at Ceasar%26#39;s] B %26amp; K Bike Rental 609-344-8008.

Smithville is not far and there are other attractions near it. here is some info: [EZ directions: Showboat is on Delaware Ave, take Delaware Ave out of AC [turns into Rt 30 aka White Horse Pike, aka Absecon Blvd], follow to Shore Road in Absecon [aka Rt 9] and make right [You will see Black Cat Tavern on corner] and will see signs for Noyes Museum, Edwin B Forsythe and Smithville respectively [can%26#39;t miss %26#39;em] http://www.smithvillenj.com/

It is a village of unique shops with loose chickens, ducks, geese. There is a pond on-site that has pedal boat rentals %26amp; radio-controlled toy boat rentals [warm weather]. Fred %26amp; Ehtel%26#39;s has american fare at reasonable prices - this is especially a plus as it LOOKS like a pricey tourist trap, as well as the shops are affordable. BTW, Fred %26amp; Ethel%26#39;s has good bloody marys

Near Smithville is the Noyes Museum http://www.noyesmuseum.org/

Noyes includes [or used to] Starbucks coffee in admission price [$4 pp].

and Edwin B Forsythe Wildlife area http://www.fws.gov/northeast/forsythe/

Forsythe has an 8 mile wildlife drive with 2 observation towers that have free binoculars. They brag about their AC skyline view... but it seems out-of-character for a wildlife refuge. There may be a lot of migrating birds in May. Admission is $4 and inculdes all car occupants If you want to do all 3, this can be an all day excursion and is REALLY close to AC.

Looks like rship1 covered everything!

I am not sure it%26#39;ll be a ghosttown though... the last time I was there (2 wks ago) the place was packed!

well not everything, their stay is not that long but I did post more activities than they can take in...

since u only have 2 nights, perhaps you could take in a lunch at Tony%26#39;s Baltimore Grill http://www.baltimoregrill.com/

They are literally in the shadow of Trop, so it%26#39;s a short walk from the boards. they have excellent pizza %26amp; I want to add that they make their own sausage. The sausage makes it worth the visit - well that and cheap cocktails; the place is simple and old, the waitstaff all appear to have been there since b4 legalized gambling and they all have the standard line when you order a pizza: %26#39;that%26#39;ll take 20 minutes, hon%26#39; - which my standard response is: %26#39;it is worth the wait%26#39; [in reality, a pizza takes over 10 minutes]. They also sell their homemade fresh sausage by the link %26amp; last summer my bro took their fresh sausages home in a cooler for souvenirs rather than salt water taffy.

Since you only have two nights I second the above opinion and recomende you try Tony%26#39;s Baltimore Grill for the ';REAL'; taste of Atlantic City!

ALSO, Don%26#39;t Miss The White House Sub Shop, a short walk from the Trop....
