Players Cards?

DH and I are new to the AC scene and will be making our first trip next week (well, first trip to do some gambling!).

Can someone explain ';players cards';? What are they for and who can get one?

Thanks!

Players Cards?

You can stop at the Player%26#39;s Club desk at each casino and get a Player%26#39;s Card. You insert them into the slot machine you%26#39;re playing at, or give them to the dealer at the table you%26#39;re playing at. This allows the casino to track how much money you%26#39;re playing through the machine in order to give you points, free play, cash back, or comps.

Several of the casinos are linked together -- for example, Resorts and Hilton use the same card, so once you get one, you%26#39;ve already got one for the other. All the Harrahs resorts use the same card (Showboat, Caesars, Harrahs, and Ballys). All the Trump resorts use the same card (the Plaza, the Taj Mahal, and the Marina). Tropicana and Borgata each use their own card and aren%26#39;t linked with anyone else.

As far as what you%26#39;ll get for using your card, the Harrahs system is easiest to understand: for slots you%26#39;ll get 1 point for every $5 you bet, and for video poker you%26#39;ll get 1 point for every $10 you bet. Each point is worth $0.01. So, if you play $5,000 through the slots, that%26#39;d be 1,000 points, or $10 in ';comps'; to use at their restaurants, etc.

there are a few promotions for signing up for cards right now.. I think at Trump Plaza (maybe all the Trump properties?) you get $50. in free play for playing on your card for 30 minutes... and then $50. the next time you go there... check with the casinos when you sign up.
