atlantic city or cape may--can't decide we're in Delaware

we%26#39;re in wilmington delaware, from california, we can%26#39;t decide which day trip to do...atlantic city or cape may...suggestions. we%26#39;re not into gambling, but we%26#39;ve never been to atlantic city, more curious, but we%26#39;ve never been to cape may and that sounds good too. which would have less traffic going and coming?

thoughts, please. we%26#39;d like to decide by tomorrow morning when we turn our gps on. ;-) leaving around 8 a.m.

thanks!

I%26#39;ve never been to Cape May but I%26#39;d still recommend going to Atlantic City, I believe it has more attractions and things to look at.

Since you are not into gambling, I%26#39;d suggest Cape May. Will you be taking the ferry from Delaware? If so, you are in Cape May when you get to the Jersey end of the trip. You can go to he Cape May Light House, tour some of the Victorian houses in Cape May, take a look at the great Cape May hotels, check out the beach and the shopping and lunch at someplace like the Ugly Mug. AC is about 40 miles farther up the Jersey Shore from Cape May so if you wanted, you could drive north up Cape May County following the Ocean Drive and check out little beach towns such as Avalon, Sea Isle City, Strathmere, Ocean City, etc and still check out AC. As to traffic, remember tomorrow is Memorial Day so weather and time of day will determine how much traffic there is, but I%26#39;d say the ater in the day, the more traffic on the Garden State and AC Expressway.

From Wilmington you can take the Delaware Memorial Bridge to Atlantic City or Cape May. The Cape May Ferry would be south a few hours out of your way.

We do like both but if I didn%26#39;t like the casinos I would stay in Cape May. Nice for shopping, touring and restaurants. There is enough in a day to see in Cape May and even venture to the lighthouse.

Good Luck!

Absolutely Cape May over Atlantic City!

No matter which place you pick, there will be lots of traffic leaving... end of a 3 day weekend..any weekend in the summer there is lots of traffic leaving our shore towns..

I guess if you aren%26#39;t gambling and just want to walk around, Cape May is probably the place to go.. take the ferry if you can.. you won%26#39;t have to deal with so much traffic and its just an enjoyable way to travel.

I agree with the above choices for Cape May. If you%26#39;re not into casinos, Cape May is the better choice. Very scenic and a lot to see and do there. As suggested take the ferry if you can; it%26#39;s a great boat ride. I think traffic over The bridge can be a drag and not much scenic driving that way—especially with the weather now. If you want to drive further north toward AC, take the scenic Ocean Drive as Frank suggests. Have an enjoyable trip.
