Did anyone get a invite to the General Manager%26#39;s Private Sweepstakes on Sat. Nov.15. at Harrah%26#39;s. What do they do for these events? It states win your share of $50,000.

I got it yesterday, along with the Murder Mystery over at Showboat the same night, they both sound fun!

my friend and i also got the invite yesterday - its a cocktail party - and if its anything like the one%26#39;s they used to have at the borgata - it is worth attending - with the giveaway later that night - i believe you get one entry and as you play during the day - you can earn more entries.

I got the invite also and will be staying at Harrahs that weekend.

So how was this event?? My friend got an invite for the on on May 30,2009. Is it worth going down for?

It is impossible to determine EV for an event like this.

There is no way to know exactly

-how many total entries were earned

-how many people earned an entry or more

-who will show up

Best you can do is try to estimate the limits on the EV of a single entry (off the top of my head)

-Each person can earn up to 50 entries

- If over 500 people were at the 7* drawing then several thousand people could attend this EXCLUSIVE event (I believe diamond is included in this one)

- 25,000 - 50,000 entries could be represented in the drawing.... and even my most optimistic estimate would be 10,000 total entries

-$50,000 is the total prize pool

That puts your EV for attending b/t: $1 - $5 times the number of entries you have PLUS whatever you value the ';mouthwatering appetizers and SELECT spirits'; at.

So with my 4 entries I am looking at $20 tops plus $0 (value to me) for the food and beverage

Sure if I am there I will drop my entries in the drum, but to make a special trip just for this ';Private Sweepstakes'; ....... NO WAY

I%26#39;ve been to several of these at Harrahs. They are basically a party in the ballroom that is usually WAY over crowded!

The food is buffet style, with long lines, there is usually a DJ and bar service.

If you%26#39;ve never been to one of these, it is worth a visit, but if you%26#39;ve been been to one, I don%26#39;t have to explain :o)
