Hello everybody,
Last week I started to consider a vacation in Wildwood after we had to cancel our plans for Virginia Beach …I have never been to Wildwood … so, it’s going to be me, my husband and my 2 children (3.5 and 2.5 years old) … I need a hotel / motel / condo ..whatever, by the beach (I can’t walk with the kids) and also close to the amusement parks or to the water park …
Can someone give me a hint about a good, decent and clean hotel, by the beach and by any toddler entertainment ?
Thank you in advance ! ! !

ive been going to wildwood for many years. the last 14 years ive been taking my daughter. we stay at the motel called the blue palms. its right close to everything you would want to do in wildwood. the boardwalk which has the kiddie rides, food, and games is just a step across the road. if you look into wildwood crest, the motels are right on the beach but then you have to walk to the boardwalk for the kiddie stuff. they have a tram car which travels from 1 end of the boardwalk to the other and you pay a fee to ride each way and you can get off whenever you want. if you stay at the blue palms, once you get on the boardwalk right beside the restaurant called the hot spot which is by moreys pier which has the kiddie rides/waterpark there is a beach taxi that will take you down to the ocean. and of course there is a fee. i havent been there this year yet but image they still have the beach taxi its been there for years. if you need anything else ask, id be happy to help. also go to www.wildwoodsnj.com request a vacation planner and you should get coupons etc to use and save $$$. have a great time ill be going next weekend.

Thank you Sly ...
I just checked the link you gave me and I made a list with hotels that seem to be by the beach and entertainment ...
Nantucket Motel
Aquarius Motel
Casa del Sole
Newport Beach Resort
Any idea about which one is better than another ?
Casa del Sole have some discounts for 1 week ... is this a decent and clean motel ?
I%26#39;m going to check Blue Palms as well ...
Nobody answers to Blue Palms ... and I just read the bad reviews Newport has ...
So, my short list is now
- Nantucket Motel
- Aquarius Motel
- Casa del Sole
And also I’ve got a good deal, with breakfast included at Adventurer Ocean Front in Wildwood Crest. Should I go to this last one ? My single problem is that the beach looks so big over there that I will have to walk about 10-15 min with the kids down to the water …
ive never really stayed in any of the motels you listed there. ive stayed in the blue palms, the white star which is now part of the blue palms, the bird of paradise which is in north wildwood and the packard motel which was torn down. when you call to inquire about rates, etc ask them if they are offering any discounts, % off, or any special offers. with the fuel cost, some will may give something just to get you to stay or try bargaining with them. it worked for me.
yes the beach looks like a hike to the water especially for younger childern. more toward wildwood crest they have a little boardwalk to walk down close to the water from the boardwalk or if you stay up close to the motels you were looking at, you can walk out thru moreys pier on the boardwalk to the end (where the water park is) then its just a short distance thru the sand to the ocean. hope this helps you out.
For less of a walk give North Wildwood a try, around 13th to 18th. The beach is a much shorter walk, the boardwalk begins on 16th, so you%26#39;re close. Check reviews here at TA. Like Wildwood Crest it%26#39;s much more family oriented.
Hmmm - I think I%26#39;ll definetely go to North Wildwood ... The pictures show the beach very close and I found out some hotels just by the beach
- Montego Bay - a little expensive
- Le Boot
- Trylon
- Roman Hollyday
Le Boot and Trylon gave me acceptable prices ... any idea about these 2 ?
Try the Athens Surff condos in North Wildwood. Was thre last year and really enjoyed it. Close to the beach and the boardwalk. Have full kitchens and everything inside is new.
Athens is a block from the beach, might be a problem with little ones. Did you look into the Madador or the American. Both are right on the beach, with access to a walkway, for a wagon or stroller.
The Tryon and LeBot I guess are also good, LB is across the street from the Madador, with the American on it%26#39;s other side. Tryon is on the other side of the American.
I live here so I can%26#39;t recommend a place to stay, suggest you check reviews here.
Madador and American were totally booked ...
Tryon and LeBoot had rooms and I chose Le Boot because they gave me a 1 bedroom instead of a room (Tryon) and I think it’s also closer to the boardwalk ..or not ?
I read the reviews for Le Boot - there were not so many and there were OK … I hope is clean and nice as the on-line pictures show …
I have to send the deposit by the end of this week – if anyone had any kind of experience with Le Boot just let me know (lol)
How is the ocean over there ? Is it immediately deep or it’s safe enough so I can leave the kids to play in the water ? And also, are there any rocks in the water or is smooth, just sand ?
LB is closer to the boardwalk, each unit is individually owned so decor will vary.
I wouldn%26#39;t leave any child alone to play in the water. Bring you chair down to the waters edge and watch them from there.
The ocean can change from hour to hour so can%26#39;t say for sure, there may be a gully but usually it gradual. No rocks just sugary sand %26amp; shells.
