Just wondering what would be the best way of traveling from Jersey City (specifically the Hyatt Regency at Exchange Place PATH stop) to the Izod Center. It will be for a major concert event on a weekday night if that is also pertinent information.
Thanks in advance!
Travel advice needed -- Jersey City to Izod Center
getting to the izod center and also to giants stadium is a bit of a hassle from NJ. (giants stadium and izod center are part of the same sports complex). for sports games, you normally have to take a train or bus into new york city, then take another bus BACK to the sports complex (sounds dumb, right)?
i%26#39;d recommend hiring a car service in advance that will take you there and back. it will probably be at least $35 each way, but there are no tolls so at least that much will be ok.
if you really want to save money, then you%26#39;ll have to look on www.njtransit.com and look for the bus route that takes you to the meadowlands. it doesn%26#39;t run regularly (only during events), and the lines to get back to NYC are verrrrrrry long (for this reason alone i%26#39;d recommend taking a car service to the stadium).

The #2 NJ Transit bus goes from Jersey City Journal Square PATH station to Secaucus Junction train station. NJ Transit runs special event buses from Secaucus Junction train station to the Meadowlands.
You%26#39;ll need to check with NJ Transit whether it is possible to ticket you for this trip. Most of the people who make this trip are coming from NYC, and the system is in place to handle this.
thanks to you both for the advice. as crazy as it seems having to travel into manhattan to get to another part of new jersey, i think that might be how we%26#39;ll end up doing this. i found the information for that on the nj transit site, i just assumed there was another easy option while staying within new jersey!
Actually, I believe you don%26#39;t have to go into NYC.

So, take PATH from Exchange Place to Newark Penn Station. Then at Newark Penn Station, use the ticket vending machine to purchase the special NJ Transit tickets.
The cost roundtrip per adult will be $9.25 (NJ Transit) + $3.50 (PATH) = $12.75.
Tke the PATH to Hoboken. From Hoboken take New Jersey Transit%26#39;s Main, Bergen County, Pascack Vally or Port Jervis line one stop to Secaucus junction, stay in the backof the train when getting off the train walk back to the escalator go up make a right and walk twoard the glass doors. Once outside you will see an escaltor to your left go down walk twoard the buses. Coming back however you may have to take the PATH train to Grove Street and change there for Exchange place. It used to be untill last year the only way to get to the Meadowlands by public transit from NJ was the 164 bus. Also starting this year I heard in June that there is going to be Direct train service to Giants Stadium, however I doubt Izod.
