Bally's or Showboat?

Hi, all...

I am staying in AC in June, and can get Bally%26#39;s, Showboat or Harrah%26#39;s on a comp and Caesars at a nominal fee. I%26#39;m being cheap and ruling out Caesars off the bat (would rather play with my money). I%26#39;ve also ruled out Harrah%26#39;s as I%26#39;d like to be on the boardwalk instead of the Marina. I have never stayed at either hotel. I currently have Showboat booked, but have been contemplating switching to Bally%26#39;s because of the more central location. Do you have any advice for me? I am looking for opinions and preferences. Thanks!

Bally's or Showboat?

In my opinion, you can%26#39;t go wrong with either Bally%26#39;s or Showboat... I just stayed at Showboat (Orleans Tower) for the first time in many years and I liked my room and was surprised at how nice it was...It seems that lots of people that stay at Bally%26#39;s get Claridge Tower.. I have stayed there many times and sometimes you get a really nice room-sometimes the room is just okay.

Location - again both on the boardwalk as long as the weather is nice you can walk from either place..Bally%26#39;s will be closer to The Pier but really its a 10-15 minute walk on the boardwalk from Showboat ... that might be a problem if its raining..

Showboat, Taj, Resorts are connected... Bally%26#39;s Trump Plaza, Ceasars are connected.

Nancy has given good advice. The only thing I%26#39;d add is that if an ocean view is important to you, you MIGHT (!!!) have better luck at Bally%26#39;s. Revel has cancelled a lot of nice views from Showboat%26#39;s windows.

Bally%26#39;s is my ';home'; casino, and one thing I really like about it now that warmer weather has arrived is the pool/spa/rooftop sunning area. The spa charges 10 comp dollars per ROOM for the privilege, and I think it%26#39;s worth every penny.

Wherever you land, just remember you are getting a ';free'; room on the Boardwalk. Roll down to Cape May and see what it would cost you, LOL

Have fun and don%26#39;t obsess too much about the room.

I agree with the previous posters. Both are decent. Heck, I am usually just happy to be there. I love AC. We are going in June as well and staying at Showboat this time. I love the festive feel of the place. Have a great trip!!!

Thanks for all of the good advice. I%26#39;m a native Jerseyan, but I haven%26#39;t been down to AC in a long time. I wasn%26#39;t sure what the lay of the land is these days. I appreciate all of the help. One more thing, are the restaurants better or worse in one property or the other. We%26#39;re in good health and don%26#39;t mind walking at all, but it%26#39;s always nice to have a good restaurant in your hotel. Thanks again.

Bally%26#39;s Dennis Rooms are really nice.

Depending on how long, you might be in for some surprises on the skyline. Bortgata has doubled in size as has Harrrah%26#39;s -- both have very impressive additions-- in the past few years.

As for food, at Bally%26#39;s on the 6th floor, there are a couple ';new'; restaurants including a 24-hour place called 6ix which is absolutely adequate for breakfast.

Hope you have a great time visiting ';home.';
