The Sands- Bethlehem

On the way back from AC today we noticed a billboard on the Atlantic City Expressway that The Sands will be opening soon in Bethlehem, Pa.

Any info on this?

The Sands- Bethlehem

I%26#39;ve been waiting for this to open for about 2 years, I can%26#39;t wait. My mother was born in Bethlehem and my grandfather worked in the ';furnace'; area for over 30 years. I remember him taking me with him to pick up his check. It was always so scary looking to a 10 yr old. I%26#39;m glad that they will keep a part of the steel mill as a museum, it really was the life blood of the town for many years.

It looks really nice and I heard they are going to open the hotel, resturants and shopping in phases after the casino is up an running.

I plan to visit as least once. It%26#39;s about a 2 1/2 hour drive from here, so the extra 1 1/2 hours I could be in AC. Looks very cool though!

i just saw the sands tv commercial and it looks like an upscale vegas casino, emeril has a restaurant there. it is funny because in the commercial all the men have suits and the women have cocktail dresses, it reminds me when yonkers racino opened and they put big billboards showing the men in tuxedos and the women in evening gowns, i must have went there on casual day.

Friend works for IGT, we%26#39;ll be at the pre-opening, will report back.

our son called 051809 to tell me you were opening on my birthday 052209 and I tried repeatedly to get directions off your website- google could not rpovide as there were errors. Maybe your webmaster needs to check this. I tried registering and again there were problems. I got timed out message. I guess I was too slow but I was disappointed by the difficulties I had and it made me wonder if a trip would be any better. I have medical issues that make travel difficult and I have to weigh the risks of disappiontment to the valus of enjoyment-so far i am not impressed. Since I am directionally impaired getting somewhere is always stress producing. Bethlehem used to be a destination for us as our son went to Lehigh

university 1999-2004 but traffic paterns and inner city have changed- please respond at

Are you directionally impaired on the roads or on the websites?

someone needs to tell Sher we aren%26#39;t the SANDS...

anyway, the commercials make it look like a great place! I look forward to hearing what real poeople say about it..
