I will be visiting my son at Princeton University for Thanksgiving and I want to rent a car in Princeton, or very nearby to public transportation.Princeton Junction? Do rental car companies exist in the area of Princeton University? I do not want to rent a car at the Newark airport, as we will be spending Thanksgiving in New York City and I will fly home from there.

You will be able to rent a car in that area. Just put car rental company names in your search engine and you will be able to locate their rental offices. For example, I put in Enterprise and came up with at least Princeton area sites.

The first idea that comes to mind: Larini%26#39;s is mainly a gas station but also rents cars (they work with a company called Just4Wheels). They are on Alexander Street (@ Faculty Road), within walking distance of the Princeton train station. Go to www.larinis.com for contact info.

Other possibilities:

Enterprise has an office on Route 206, near Cherry Valley Road. This isn%26#39;t within walking distance of the university, but I believe they will pick you up (call to see if they still do this and what hours the service is available).

Avis has 2 locations -- one at the Princeton Airport and one at Larry%26#39;s Sunoco on Route 1 @ Harrison Street.

Hertz has a rental desk in the Hyatt in Carnegie Center (near the intersection of Route 1 %26amp; Alexander Road). I believe the New Jersey Transit #600 bus goes there from the Princeton Junction train station.

I have heard of Just4 wheels. Never used them. Try Enterprise as well.
