Can Someone Please Explain This Slot Machine Question

Last night I was playing the new 5 cent Hot Shot progressive 4 reel machine, with the 4th reel having the respin feature. I had 3 hot shot symbols on the first 3 reels and the respin on the 4th reel. After respinning 3 times, I wound up with over 31,000 credits = $1,500 during the feature. I waited for the machine to say Jackpot, Please Call an Attendant, but it never said anything, so I pressed cash out. The machine immediately spit out the ticket for over $1,500. I don%26#39;t understand this since the $1,500 was won during one bonus round.

I%26#39;m not complaining, but I am confused. Any idea how this could have happened. I do know that in the past if you hit for over $1,200 during a feature, it%26#39;s always a hand pay.

i think i played a 25cent version of that. i am probably wrong but when i saw those new slots featured in a magazine on a junket i was on,it made it sound like theres several levels or stages in which you can win? maybe during the respin feature it became another level of the game so it didnt count as 1 spin??????????? hey in any case congrats on the non w2g .... handpay worthy hit

Can Someone Please Explain This Slot Machine Question

I%26#39;m betting the law reads that you need $1,200 or more in ONE spin, and by having the slot respin, you managed to get around that law because it ended up being multiple spins, so it ended up being under $400 per spin so no jackpot and no W2-G! Congrats on a nice hit and bigger congrats for not getting taxed on it. Let%26#39;s hope the IRS isn%26#39;t reading this post and thinking of new ways to tax us, lol.

Nice hit MJ! Even nicer that the tax people don%26#39;t have to know about it. I agree that it must have something to do with how it was won rather than the amount. Hey, whatever works!

I was thinking the same thing myself, but in the past, the W2G was based on the whole bonus round and not each individual spin.

On another note, the new Mr. Cashman%26#39;s with the major and minor bonuses will not spit out a ticket if you hit the major bonus, even though most of the time the bonus is less than $400. It%26#39;s definitely a pain for the attendant%26#39;s.

wow-thats a nice bonus round!

Congratulations on the score!

As far as I know from the time you pull the handle or press spin/maxbet until the time the machine finishes paying you that is all considered one pull/spin. Any gross payout of $1200 or more requires a W2G.

You said it was a new machine, so perhaps the settings are wrong.....

Maybe when the slot tech (or the factory) set it up the ';Handpay Settings'; were done incorrectly?

Have you seen anyone get a handpay on these machines yet?

Rest assured that the casinos who monitor this board (almost all of them) will have a tech checking the machines this morning to make sure all is well.

And if they do try to chase you down with a W2G.... don%26#39;t sweat it..... your Win/Loss statement (and total taxes owed ) doesn%26#39;t change whether this jackpot gets a w2g or not

I love Mr. Cashman! Where are those new machines with minor and major bonuses? What denomination are they? I%26#39;ll be in A.C. on May 11, 12, 13, 14, 15.

I would play that machine again %26amp; hope for the best. I think something is screwy with the program. I hope you win a mint.

Tasha: The new Mr. Cashman machines are on the 2nd floor of Caesars across from the escalators near the Ocean Tower. They have a carousel of 8 machines.

I played the new Hot Shot machine again this weekend but did not fair well. The woman who sat next to me played for the 1st time and within a couple of minutes hit for $1,100. Guess it was beginner%26#39;s luck for both of us.

After not having much luck on the first floor, I decided to head back upstairs. On the way acroos the floor I saw a $1.00 machine. Keep in mind that I normally play nickels. As I clutched my $20 voucher in my hand, the machine kept calling to me, ';Feed me, Feed me';. Reluctantly, I put that stupid voucher in the machine and hit for $850.00 on the first spin. Immediately, the words Jackpot, Call Attendant flashed acrossed the screen.

Now this leaves me perplexed. I was able to print out on $1,500, but not on $850. Guess it%26#39;s another one of those mysteries of Harrahs.

Aquarius: I spoke to a slot mechanic/technician (not a slot attendant) about this and he said that all the machines are controlled from a main frame computer upstairs and every so often there%26#39;s a skip causing the machine not to recognize it as a hand pay, therefore allowing me to print out a ticket.
