AC casinos only “won” $313 million last month. Only the Borg and, surprisingly, the Taj seem to have held on with their new expansions. Hilton and Resorts again come in last.

The AC casino businesses seem to be concentrating on rents or profits from over-priced stores and restaurants these days. It also seems to be getting a lot easier for low-rollers like myself and many of my friends to get weekend rooms lately. I guess rooms are the biggest come-on they have left. The prime summer season is coming, but so is the new PA Sands. The Sands is 30 miles or so closer than AC to NY City—and doesn’t have summer beach traffic! I already see over a dozen bus runs lined up! And I think there is a rail line that might become available. I want to see their new Museum of American Industry, that’s supposed to be linked to the Smithsonian, when it opens.
