TR 5/21 Chester

My wife and I went to Chester for a few hours this afternoon. She had a buy one-get one lunch buffet comp. Between that, her comp credits and my credits, we ended up paying $1.01 for the meal (plus tip). Pretty good deal. The food was very tasty, as always. We like that buffet a lot. This was our first time having lunch there and it is exactly the same as dinner - just cheaper.

After lunch, I played $5 blackjack for almost an hour and walked away down $5. That was fine with me. Cheap entertainment. I took my $95 to a Cleopatra slot, not realizing at first it was a $.25 machine. Kept playing anyway and ended up losing all but $3. I took that and $60 cash and played 5-cent Mr. Cashman African Dusk. Thanks mainly to one great spin involving 4 wild symbols that earned me over 3,000 credits, I walked away from there with $173.95, putting me up a little for the trip.

So overall, a very nice time. Good lunch for almost nothing and both my wife and I won a few dollars in the process.

We%26#39;ve eaten at the buffet maybe 4 or 5 times now and never had a bad experience. The one thing that bugs me is that they charge more on Saturday night because it is ';prime rib'; night and neither of us eat prime rib.

We like the set-up and different stations. My wife especially likes it because she has a seafood allergy and the seafood items are prepared separately from the other food so she knows it is safe to eat the fried chicken, for example, because that fryer hasn%26#39;t been used for any fish.

The only warning I%26#39;d give is to avoid the smoothies at dessert. They are lousy. I only tried them once, so something may have been wrong that night, but they were very sweet and fake tasting. Everything else is good. They had mini apple crepes today that were delicious.

I also went to Chester (but last night). I took advantage of my vouchers for 5/21 and 5/22. Nothing great. I sat at Star Trek for about 2 hours. Kept bombing on the bonus rounds! Ick!! I hate having to pick something for my bonus amount! I am glad you enjoyed the buffet, I have been there for dinner and it was just awful! The food was dried up and cold. That night, I complained and it got me a free meal at the buffet for future use...haven%26#39;t used it yet!

Thanks for the TR. We go to Chester around 3x a month, have never tried the buffet, have heard mostly negative reviews, we may have to give it a try after reading your TR. We do enjoy eating at the '; End Zone '; and at the '; Cove ';. Our new favorite thing to do is stop at the Cove Bar, have a cocktail and an order of Mussells while enjoying the River View. Their $35 price fix menu is a great deal with great food !

I%26#39;ve also heard negative reviews of the buffet and I%26#39;m honestly not sure what people were expecting or looking for. I have heard that the buffet is better than when they first opened but I wasn%26#39;t there back then so I can%26#39;t speak from personal experience.
