Just got some clarification on prices.
$20.00 per dog for the season.
$10.00 per dog for the week.
Park is located on Lafayette St. in Cape May near the Cape May Elementary School and Baseball Field.
Thanks,
Pat
Cape May Dog Park
Thanks, Pat! How will they be enforcing that, I wonder? There are always those jerks who seem to think the world revolves around them (like your friend from the Wawa)and I%26#39;m sure someone will try to use it without paying.

Cape May Dog Park
I did see someone there checking on Monday but not the rest of this week. I am not sure how they are going to handle it. I guess it is a wait and see game at this poing.
Whoa! I didn%26#39;t think the pups would have to pay to use it. It%26#39;s like having canine beach tags.
Would there really be a problem with people driving a distance to use it, if it was free? If there%26#39;s a charge, they%26#39;ll have to pay for an attendant to monitor the park.
Could a pet friendly landlord buy a couple of season passes for his property, or are they issued per specific pet?
I guess I%26#39;m in shock, or just not up to date on these things.
Thanks for the info.
Thank you so much for the chuckle...Doggie Beach Tag, I love it and how appropriate!!!
I just went by there about 45 minutes ago and there was someone standing outside the fence but the fence was locked.
I am calling City Hall in the morning to get the ';scoop'; so to say! I know you need to show a license %26amp; rabie certificate, so the permit may be dog specific.
Thanks again for the chuckle.
The Cape May Dog Park was organized by a group of local residents who worked on this project with the city for 18 months to make this happen. The insurance for this park, the gazebo, plantings inside gates and signs, poop bags and dispensers and tags are all paid for by the Cape May Dog Friendly Association. The sale of tags is handled by the city to make sure all dogs using the park are properly lisenced and current on their shots. Summer visitors are welcome to and encouraged to use the park. Your rental agent can provide you with forms prior to your arrival and purchase the park pass for you. The park is not locked at this point in time, because we would like to believe that dog owners will be willing to pay to help keep this park open. If we find that people abuse the honor system we will have to change our policy. So far the park has been a great success, we have over 85 registered dogs in just 2 weeks. Please help continue. Hi loveinn,
I think the dog park is a wonderful idea since there are so many more visitors traveling with their pets.
I hope you didn%26#39;t take my ';chuckle'; wrong. It was not meant to be a bad remark.
I work in a hotel and have a list of pet friendly hotels etc. when people ask I have also been a promoter of the dog park so people know where they can take their pet for a safe time outdoors.
I wish the association continued success and thanks so much for sharing the information you did. It is so much more that I was getting from my phone calls.
Pat
Is there a website for the dog park or the association? I belong to the dog park %26amp; my house in Cape May gets the fliers, but I am hoping there is somewhere else I can get the information %26amp; updates. I am not at my house during the off-season, so I miss out.
the dog park here is a lot of fun..just be careful! it runs on an honor sysytem which dosnt seem to work out....many people can not read and eneter the dog park without the proper pass...th epass is important because its the only way to assure that the dogs have had their proper vaccinations and also if there is an unfortunate incident,it gives u a way of tracking down who the owner is..however...this is not adhered to! more people use the park without a pass than those with one! they can not read...although there r plenty of signs up...the city is aware of this but they do not regulate it. other than that the park is a fun pl;ace to run your dog! they have water avaiable as well. great place to socialize your dog
My mom said she has seen more dogs in the park, so I assumed people were abusing the park. I am paying my $40 again this year to take my kids to the park. The money is so the park is there for them %26amp; is kept up. They have water now? Last year there was no water which was no big deal we brought our own. I will have to bring up the fee to anyone I see at the park just to make sure they have the pass or make them feel guilty for ripping off the other park goers.
It%26#39;s too bad that the dog friendly motels and B%26amp;B%26#39;s don%26#39;t sell the passes. The City Hall is never open when I try to buy one.
And yes, I can read, but, I%26#39;ve been tempted to let the mutts have a few minutes off lead on several occasions. We drove up for one day to see a short sale, but again, the City Hall was closed. After 5 hours in the car, it would have been nice to let them run a bit. But, I%26#39;m a chicken.
Those of us that want to visit on weekends can%26#39;t.
I emailed the City and the animal control person to see if I could send a check and shot records, but, noone responded.
So maybe a few of the illegal people have tried to play by the rules, but can%26#39;t.
Have an ice day!
